Belgian transport company Mozer signs up for Qualcomm’s OmniExpress™ solution
Paris – January 17, 2009 - Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies and data solutions, announces the signature of the first European contract for its interactive touch-screen display OmniExpress solution with Mozer International, a removal specialist and a historical client of Qualcomm in Belgium.
Dimitri Mozer, the Group’s General Manager, explains the reasons behind the choice of OmniExpress for his fleet: « Mozer International was one of the first companies in Belgium to use Qualcomm’s EutelTRACS, and is equipped with its latest versions. We chose OmniExpress in line with our current needs for the rest of our fleet. We feel that this is a truly promising solution. In addition, OmniExpress’s touch-screen equipment is totally adequate for our fleet/base communications. »
Thanks to the FleetVisor™ Web portal, also developed by Qualcomm, Mozer can simultaneously use two of Qualcomm’s fleet management solutions. OmniExpress is a mobile communications solution specifically designed for national and regional transport fleets. This is a mid-range solution is positioned to complement Qualcomm’s well-known high-end solution EutelTRACS used in particular by international, long-distance transport companies.
In addition to national, international and corporate removals, Mozer, which is also the Belgian specialist for the transport of fragile items to Eastern European countries, offers services including fragile equipment logistics, archives management and the storage of goods.
OmniExpress and all Qualcomm solutions will be on display at the Qualcomm booth, Hall 11, stand no. 11.07, Truck & Transport exhibition in Brussels, from January, 17th-20th 2009.
Qualcomm’s OmniExpress solution is available with two different hardware configurations, ensuring that the specific needs of a wide variety of fleet customers are met. It enables fleets to track their mobile assets, manage and report on driver hours of service, and retrieve engine and other vehicle data from the FMS CAN-Bus. With the recent addition to the solution of a new easy-to-program, user-friendly, on-board touch screen display, fleet dispatchers can communicate with drivers via text messages and monitor driver activity. It also enables them to better manage trip status and workflow, further improve driver and vehicle performance, enhance safety, reduce operational costs, and improve business planning and decision making.
The OmniExpress solution delivers improved, near real-time vehicle monitoring and management of loads and drivers and turns vehicle and driver data into actionable information that can be used to reduce expenses and boost fleet efficiency.
