Effective October 1, 2012, QUALCOMM Incorporated completed a corporate reorganization in which the assets of certain of its businesses and groups, as well as the stock of certain of its direct and indirect subsidiaries, were contributed to Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. Should we teach kids coding before reading?

Networks and mobile devices are in every aspect of our lives. It’s only natural that we wonder how deeply they are affecting our children’s development. I’ve seen pre-school children quite comfortable with a keyboard and mouse and research suggests that’s widespread. The arrival of touch interface has pushed the age at which children start interacting with technology even younger.

HD Voice – “Hear me loud and clear”

In today’s data crazy, texting, tweeting, socially networked world, I think people still value a good “clear” voice conversation. Don’t you agree? Even more importantly, a large portion of mobile operator revenues come from voice services. And as usual, we at Qualcomm are at it again, bringing the best possible voice experience through our HD Voice offerings. So much so that Sprint announced their first HD Voice device running on Snapdragon recently.

Getting the Smart Grid right

The idea of the Smart Grid – using network technology to manage and run our electricity grid better – is an exciting one for me. Qualcomm has been working hard on how we can support Smart Grid implementations. The work we’ve done suggests there are more possibilities here than just utility management – if we get the communication technology underlying the Smart Grid right.
